Lucky France!

The French team won the match against Togo and it was all over for the last asian challange in the form of Korea. French team is an ageing team so I am not hoping much from them.

There were only 2 major disappointments in the first round. First being Czech Republic and second Croatia.
Now is the time to see good teams fall and the rise of one team to top others and win the WC!

Its going to be thrilling to watch the best of the world battle it out in the knock-out stage.
The crucial battle will be between Portugal and Holland as they fight for a seat in the last 8.

First victory

Today Italy began its hunt for its 4th WC title in a style by beating the African champions, Ghana 2-0.

It was a characteristic play by the Italians. First they started with full throttle then dropped their shoulders in the mid of the second half and finished with a goal by IAQUINTA.
More about the match can be found @ FIFA world cup .

My best wishes to the Italian team which faces a moderately hard task against the morally down Americans.

Anti-Reservation 2

I now even strongly believe that reservation on the basis of caste should be completely abolished.
50 years of reservations is more than enough!
Government should give economic benefits like no tuition for students from backward categories.
The policy of reservation was created so that at least 1 generation of 'kaum' will be benefited from that and then the next generation should be able to sustain the competition in the open category.
But some idiots think that they need to snatch that seat from a deserving candidate and that's why there is support to this policy so far.
Now no more of this carp....

Big treat for a sports fan

Today was one of the busy days for a sports fan.
First the football WC then the French open then the British GP and the cricket match between India and WI.

Italian Supporter

So far the results of the WC are as expected. I am very excited that tomorrow the Italian team starts its quest for the cup!

F1

The legendary formula1 driver Michael Schumacher has lost his edge to Fernando Alonso.
Alonso is now the new star entering the F1 hall of fame.
Alonso is also racing ahead in the race to the 2006 title.

Its always exciting to watch 2 very competitive drivers racing against each other.
Now I'm just hoping that Michael makes a comeback to make the remaining 10 F1 races even more fun to watch.

Frech open

The modern emperor of tennis once again lost his 'final frontier' that too against the age old enemy
Rafael Nadal!!!
This was a very disappointing result but Nadal must be appreciated for his brilliant effort which has kept Federer away from his maiden French open title.
Now we have to wait for 1 more year to see him break the 36 year old record of Rod Laver.

All the best Roger for the rest of the season.

World Cup

Traditionally I'm a big Italian fan but looking at the teams this year I feel Brazil has a very high potential and will make it to at least the last 4. The other favorite being Argentina!
